Haldane Athletic Booster Club’s 1st Annual Car Show – a great success!!

<INSERT PICTURE HERE>
The Haldane Blue Devil Booster Club held a Car Show on Sunday, May 20th – the first of its kind at Haldane. The Booster Club raised over $3,000!

The show attracted more than 50 cars of all makes and models, and dozens of spectators who shared in all of the fun. The Club’s President, Dan Hughes, was ecstatic with the success of the event and anticipates making it an annual fundraiser. Haldane School Board President, Joe Curto (among others) stepped in as volunteer chef, and cooked up a storm! The Booster Club Committee Members planned, shopped, secured donations and also donated their time to make this event so successful. The National Honor Society and many student athletes also helped with setup and cleanup, selling raffle tickets, food, and directing traffic.

Haldane would like to thank Lomotion Auto, Poughkeepsie, NY for sponsoring this event and making it such a huge success.

What do we do with the money we fund raise?

–          Scholarships

–          Coaches, teams faculty members can request funding or equipment or an activity from the available Booster Club funds. Typically the grants are awarded for equipment that falls outside the school budget but that will assist a team with their training or conditioning.

RECENT GRANTS

Some of the recent Booster Club Grants include:

~ When this soccer season rolls around, the Haldane Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer teams will have new tools  to hone their skills in preseason practice sessions. Thanks to a grant from the Blue Devil Booster Club, both soccer teams now have various pop-up soccer goals, agility obstacles and training aids to hone dribbling and passing skills.

~ Our Blue Devil Baseball team made it to the State final game this year. As you know, our winter and spring weather in Cold Spring isn’t exactly conducive to an extensive spring training schedule. The ability to have the team hold effective indoor workouts is a must for our team. Thanks to the Booster Club purchase of an indoor pitching mound this year, not only did our pitchers get to have effective early season workouts, but the batters were able to see live pitching from a mound as they would when the real action began.

These grants, and the many more provided by the Blue Devil Booster Club are made possible by the generous support from our members and the Blue Devil community. Thank You!!
